Documenting United States-Brazil relations from the 1960s-1980s
Opening the Archives is a joint effort by Brown University and the Universidade Estadual de Maringá, Paraná, Brazil to digitize and index 75,000 U.S. State Department documents on Brazil from 1963-73 and make them available to the public on an open-access website. Student researchers, under the leadership of Professor James N. Green, have scanned over 60,000 records from presidential libraries, as well as the State Department, Defense Department, the American Institute for Free Labor Development (AIFLD), and more.
